Venue Reading is a professional events service at the University of Reading that offers a wide variety of venues and facilities at our Whiteknights and London Road campuses.

Event management

Every one of our events is managed by an experienced and dedicated event co-ordinator, working with you to meet your requirements.

Facilities

We can offer all year round availability with a flexible range of capacities and facilities, including meeting rooms, lecture theatres and exhibition space, along with an extensive range of on-site accommodation from either our all year round cedars hotel to our halls of residence available during vacation. Our beautiful parklands lend themselves to outdoor events such as, teambuilding away days and receptions.

Catering

We have a wide range of catering facilities and menus brought to you by our in-house Catering Services team. Whether you are looking for a conference dinner, a quick bite to eat, or a BBQ on our Meadow Suite terrace, there are plenty of options to meet your requirements.

Accommodation

We are able to offer a range of convenient and affordable accommodation at the University of Reading. Based in the heart of Whiteknights Campus, The Cedars Hotel is our all-year-round offering with 36 en-suite bedrooms, making it ideal for conference delegates or anyone seeking bed and breakfast accommodation.

During summer vacation period, The University of Reading halls of residence provide modern premier en-suite facilities for larger conferences & groups.

Grounds

Our University Whiteknights campus has recently been voted one of the best green spaces in the country, making it an ideal setting to host your event. Please visit the University’s Sustainability website for more information about our green credentials.

Sports Facilities

The SportsPark on campus has a number of facilities including a fitness studio, floodlit all-weather hockey and football pitch, indoor tennis courts, and large grass pitches for activities.

Location

The University of Reading Whiteknights and London Road campuses are in a prime location in the South-East of England and have excellent transport links.


Whiteknights Campus

Our main campus is set in 130 hectares of beautiful parkland, so you’ll find plenty of places to relax during the day. The site has received consecutive Green Flag awards, recognising it as one of Britain’s top green spaces. This campus has multiple meeting facilities housing our largest lecture theatre in the Palmer building seating 400 delegates.

London Road Campus

This historic site is one of the University’s original campuses. It also features the Great Hall, which is used for concerts and graduation ceremonies seating up to 350 delegates. The largest lecture theatre situated on this campus seats 137 delegates.

Sat nav users, please use the postcode RG6 6UR. The Whiteknights and London Road campuses in Reading are approximately 1.5 miles from the M4 motorway.

PARKING

Parking on campus is limited so we encourage people to use public transport. We are able to offer a limited number of campus parking permits for events but please note this does not guarantee a parking space. Please note that you do not need a permit to park on campus for events held Monday - Friday after 5pm and on weekends. For Park House, please use Cark Park 9 or 15.
Reading’s mainline station has recently undergone a major refurbishment, making travelling to the town by train easier and more enjoyable. Reading is easily accessible by regular, fast trains from London Paddington, as well as via London Waterloo. It is well connected by routes from the North, South and West via Bournemouth, Bristol, Oxford, Guildford and Basingstoke.

FROM THE STATION AND READING TOWN CENTRE:

The 21 and 21a buses run from Reading train station in the town centre to our Whiteknights campus at regular intervals, 24 hours a day.
